How do I redeem a Gift Card?
There are two types of redemption: Current Clients and New Clients.
- Current Clients: Log onto your TimeToPet Client Portal or Mobile App and request any services. Let us know you purchased a Gift Card and we can load the balance to your account. If there are any elements of surprise for a loved one, please communicate with us to best deliver your surprise.
- New Clients: Create your account here to schedule a Meet & Greet and redeem your services: https://www.timetopet.com/portal/cthappypaws/create-account
Please note the following qualifiers for services with Shoreline Happy Paws:
- Recipient must live within our service area for walks, hikes, cat sitting, boarding, or Adventure Bus.
- Meet-and-greet and behavior assessment are required before any service can be redeemed. Gift Cards can cover the Meet & Greet.
- Pets must be safe and non-aggressive, friendly with new people, and appropriate for a team-based care model.
- Team-based model is required - multiple trained staff may provide care, not a single sitter.
- A safe, reliable home access method (lockbox, we do not take keys with us) must be in place for walking and check-ins.
- Scheduling depends on availability and gift cards do not guarantee openings, especially on holidays.
- Dog Vacation care requires a weekly recurring membership; gift cards alone do not qualify someone for vacation visits.
- Pets must be up-to-date on required vaccinations and on flea/tick prevention for hikes, boarding, and bus services.
Can I redeem a Gift Card for someone slightly out of your service area?
Gift cards can only be redeemed within our active service area, so we’re unable to provide in-home services outside these towns. If the recipient lives just beyond our boundary, they may still use the gift card for services that take place within our coverage area, such as Homestyle Boarding, or they’re welcome to transfer the card to another household inside our service area.
Our current service towns include Essex, Deep River, Chester, Westbrook, Clinton, Madison, Old Saybrook, Haddam, and Higganum, as well as Old Lyme, Lyme, East Lyme, Niantic, Waterford, Groton, and New London.

What is your Gift Card refund policy?
All gift card sales are final and non-refundable. No exceptions. Gift cards do not guarantee service availability and follow our standard cancellation policy. They may be transferred to another household within our service area if unused.
Do gift cards expire?
No, our gift cards never expire. Use them whenever it’s convenient for you and your pet.
Can I choose the amount for the gift card?
Yes, you can select from several preset amounts in $75, $150, $300 and $500 increments. The minimum custom amount for any gift card is $75.

How are gift cards sent to recipients?
You can gift them electronically via email either instantly or on a future scheduled date.
Alternatively, you can also print a PDF Document with the card that you will receive with your purchase receipt. We recommend printing it and wrapping it as a gift for a more personal touch. The image to the right is how the email looks.
What services can the gift card be used for?
Gift cards are valid for the offerings listed on this page: New Client Meet & Greets, Dog Walking, Dog Hiking, Doggie Adventure Bus Trips, Dog Boarding, and Cat Care.
Do I need to complete a Meet & Greet prior to redeeming the Gift Card?
Yes - for safety and consistency, all new dogs require a Meet-and-Greet before we begin any services. All New Client Meet & Greets are $40 and can be paid for with the gift card balance.
Do gift cards guarantee availability?
No, since everyone needs are VERY different, so we try our best to make it work. We’ll guide them toward the best times and services based on our current openings. Please text 860-964-0464 to gauge your recipient's situation and determine whether our services will be a good fit for them before you purchase a gift card.
Do you offer or can I use a gift card for Dog Sitting Drop In Visits?
At this time, Drop-In Visits are only available to families whose dogs we already care for weekly. Because this service requires extra staffing and flexibility, we are not able to guarantee availability for new or occasional-only clients.
If you’d like access to Drop-In Visits in the future, we recommend enrolling in a recurring weekly dog walking schedule.
